Priority Roles

2024-2025 Primary Teaching Resident

The Capital Teaching Residency is a three year program. Residents spent the first year of this commitment – their residency year – training in an anchor classroom with a highly effective lead teacher to develop teaching skills and confidence. Residents will also have the opportunity to independently apply new skills and abilities in other grades and subjects within their school communities. This dual approach allows residents to learn alongside a mentor teacher, strengthen skills, and apply new learnings within their school community. Through our gradual release model, residents are set up for success by becoming an integral part of their school community and gaining more responsibility in their classroom over time. Residents have the opportunity to obtain their DC teacher licensure. Residents will receive a salary of $52,000 during year 1 (residency year).

2024-2025 Middle School Special Education Teacher

Our special education teachers work closely with general education teachers and service providers to fully support our students through interventions that meet their Individual Education Plan goals in inclusion, resource, and pull-out settings. Teacher salaries start at $65,500 and increase with years of experience.
